Zero waste has, from the beginning, been a focus of Big Love Network. We have worked at over 30 local events collecting and sorting “trash” properly and disposing of the solid waste materials. At each event the collection and sorting are done in a manner where people can see, be a part of, and learn about the process. Notable events include Big Love Fest, Porch Rockr, the City of Akron’s Square Fest, and Middlebury Better Block. During each event, we significantly reduce the number of bags of trash that end up in a landfill, and compost material is donated to local community gardens.
